Case 6: An 89 Year-Old Man in the Pacemaker Clinic
History
Diagnosis
History
An 89 year-old man presents to the pacemaker clinic for routine follow-up. The following tracing is noted on pacemaker interrogation:
Diagnosis
- Sinus rhythm with PVC
- Atrial lead noise causing inappropriate mode switch
Comment: Low amplitude high frequency lead noise is often caused by insulation breaks which allow for myopotential signals to be detected on the lead. In this patient, the lead noise was intermittent and had minimal impact on his overall pacemaker function and thus continued observation was recommended.
ECG ID: E840
