History
A 54-year-old man with type 2 diabetes, hypertension and hypercholesterolemia is brought by ambulance to the Emergency Department 1 hour after the onset of severe retrosternal pain:
Diagnosis
- Sinus rhythm with first degree AV block
- Acute inferior myocardial infarction (Q waves and marked ST elevation in II, III and aVF)

In the Emergency Department the patient receives IV injection of a fibrinolytic drug and is admitted to the coronary unit. The following ECG is recorded one day later:
ECG 2 Diagnosis
The ST segment and T waves have normalized. There are Q waves in the inferior leads in keeping with an inferior infarction.
