Case 24: A 76-Year-Old Man Seen for a Routine Assessment
History
Diagnosis
History
An active 76-year-old man with no cardiac complaints is seen by his family physician for a routine assessment:
Diagnosis
- Sinus bradycardia, 56/min
- Incomplete right bundle branch block (iRBBB)
The ECG of this patient had been known to show incomplete right bundle branch block for at least 10 years. There have been no changes and he has remained healthy. The significance of this ECG finding should always be assessed on the basis of the history and clinical findings. A pattern of incomplete right bundle branch block may be a “normal variant” in normal subjects.
