Case 102: A 73-Year-Old Woman with Angina
History
Diagnosis
History
A 43-year-old diabetic woman is seen in the Emergency Department with a one-week history of recurrent chest pain:
Diagnosis
- Sinus rhythm
- Right bundle branch block
- Septal myocardial infarction, age undetermined
- Possible inferior myocardial infarction, age undermined
(the statement of “possible inferior myocardial infarction” is made because it is difficult to assess whether in this tracing there are tiny r waves or a QS pattern in III and aVF.)
2 years earlier this lady suffered from an anterior infarct and underwent angioplasty of the left anterior descending artery.
During the present admission coronary angiography demonstrated a severe stenosis of the right coronary artery that was successfully dilated and stented.
