This 65-year-old man presents to the pacemaker clinic for routine follow-up:
Diagnosis
- Sinus rhythm with second degree AV block Mobitz II
- Escape paced QRS complexes (VVI pacemaker)
- Left axis deviation, Right bundle branch block
This 65 year old patient has had diabetes for over 30 years, and has hypertension and chronic renal insufficiency due to diabetic nephropathy. Two years ago, he developed third degree AV block, leading to the implantation of a pacemaker was implanted. Follow-up ECGs have shown varying degrees of AV block with normal function of the ventricular pacemaker.
