A 83-year-old man is in the cardiac clinic:

- DDD pacing (atrial sensed, ventricular paced rhythm)
- Underlying sinus tachycardia, 109/min,
Comment: The atrial activation (P) is sensed and is followed, after the programmed AV interval, by a ventricular paced output (the “spike”, a sharp vertical deflection”) and the ventricular activation (QRS).
